So, I have a 1999 Ford F-250, with the 5.4L triton engine. A while ago I was driving home from work, I stopped to get fuel, and checked my oil. (Which was full.) And about five minutes later I went to take off from a stop sign, and had no power, the truck struggled to get more than 30 miles per hour, I stepped on the throttle a little harder, the truck got to about 50 MPH. Then suddenly lost oil pressure. Not a tick, knock, ping or any other abnormal noise. My engine temperature was normal, too. As soon as I saw the oil pressure gauge drop I shut off the engine and coasted to the side of the road. I tried to start the truck, and all I got was a click from the starter, I towed the truck home, pulled the spark plugs, to see if I had water in the cylinders, nothing. I tried to turn the motor over by hand and it was locked up. Prior to stopping for fuel, the truck was running fine!
If you can't turn it over by hand, it's either a seized engine or seized trans pump (could be a few other things, but these are the likely items). Bump the starter a bunch of times, like rapid click click click click click click click and see if that frees it up. It's a good idea to pull all the spark plugs for this step. Drain the oil and see if there's any metal in it.
