I went to check the old wiring and the pink wire is cut 16 inches from the connector... so either I reuse it but shorter (I'm not sure it works?) or I put a 1.35 ohm ceramic resistor like this one between the ignition switch and the ignition coil https://highway-import.com/produit/r...eure-135-ohms/ ? What do you think ?

I don't know if I explained well, so I'll start again, is it possible to remove the pink wire, put a "normal" wire connected from the ignition switch to a 1.35 ohm ceramic resistor then connected to the resistor on the reel?

Is there no one on the forum to give me an opinion ? on the French mustang forum some people removed this wire and put a ceramic resistor and it works, so it should also on the F100, so I'm thinking of doing it like that.

My opinion is you can do it any way you like as long as you step down the voltage with the appropriate resistance when in the Run mode. Wire or ceramic block, it shouldn't know the difference...!

I found a 1.35 ohm resistor like the original wire so I'll try that, thank you very much!

I would not run the original wire to the ceramic resistor. Install a new wire from the key switch to the ceramic resistor run along side the wire harness. Or, just buy a new resistor wire for it and run it along side the wire harness.

Or. If you have upgraded your ignition so you are no longer running points, many modern ignitions require 12v to the ignition coil at all times, thus negating the need for the resistor wire, or a ballast resistor (block).

This is what I said a little above, I completely remove the original wire, I put a new 2.5 mm2 wire from the ignition switch to the ignition coil and between the two, mounted in series, I put resistance.

I had seen this solution but I think the simplest for the moment is the Ballast resistor, thank you all for your help.

Yes, you will be fine both ways. The ballast resistor is an easy way to add the resistance needed. And, if you decide to go with a more modern (not necessarily better) ignition system, it is easy to remove.
