Arrow A different Intake plenum

I have a 1990 F150 4X4 with a 5.0L EFI. I would like to know if there is an aftermarket intake manifold/plenum that I could purchase for this that is centered over the engine? I just want an easier access to the valve covers and such.

I am thinking your talking about a custom or expensive unit. Most aftermarket intakes mimic the overall design of the stock ones. later and good luck, you may very well find what your looking for.

Actually. A friend of mine does this type of work for his drag car. I have the donor intake I can use for the process.
A little hacking and welding otta do the trick.

You'll lose any low end torque the 302 had to begin with. The longer the runners, the more torque you will make at lower rpms. This won't matter in a race car that operates in the upper rpm range, but it will really hurt a truck's performance.

I took into consideration the length of the runners before this thought. This guy is a good mechanic. Before I do anything, I will consult with him on pros and cons for sure.
Thanks for the concern.

Summit Racing sell a 1" phenolic spacer that goes between the F150 upper and lower intakes. It's a well made piece priced at about $61.00. Would that extra inch give you what you want?

Summit seems to be the only outfit that sells a full 1" spacer that is mean't for the F150 intake. (It includes really chinzy longer bolts and gaskets for both sides of the spacer)
