I have a 2004 f350 superduty dually triton v10 crew cab short bed that measures 6&3/4 feet does anyone know where I might find a replacement for it
the 1/4's have no damage to them the supports are rusted out, was thinking just replacing floor pan and support any thoughts
Welcome to a superduty, bed support rails are all but guaranteed to rust out in new england. There is a place in NJ that does nothing but SD parts stripping. I'd check with them as they bring a ton of SD's back from the south where the beds are in pretty good condition. If you want to make a trek to NY, try Dutchers in Morrisville NY, they buy all kinds of southern beds and stockpile them. A good bed is 1500-2k+, short beds have less demand but can be harder to find. Many takeoffs (basically new trucks with beds removed to install say a flat bed, or a wrecker body) are long beds, and a nice take off with <100 miles is like buying new. Be nice if a post 16 would look right on your truck, those are more plentiful and cheaper than a 99-16 with its body lines.
If you want to repair yours Dorman makes bed floor repair panels for a fair price, and the support rails also. You can also opt to make your own support rails for about the same or a little less, Here is dimensions for those: Front support - 3" tall x 2" wide x 6' long
2nd support - 2 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide x 5' long
3rd support - 2" tall x 2" wide x 5' long
4th support - 1" tall x 2" wide by 5' long And 1 1/2" tall x 2" wide x 1' Long (for the two spacers that sit on the frame)
Get some 1/2" fender washers too for shimming to get the heights of the rails just perfect.
This is kinda crucial. I set the rails on the truck where they go. I then laid angle iron over them. The bed is flat so anywhere a rail doesn't meet the angle iron I have to shim it up to the angle iron. The angle iron at the rear of the frame rail should 2 3/8 to 2 1/2" from the frame rail. Here's the rails just mocked up so I could look at it and feel better about where it was going
