Found it yesterday, and turns out a pushrod can fall into the bottom end. It was in the forward most oil return hole wedged against the opposite lifter by its ball end. Seems that one false move would have sent it All the way down. Was able to use a very powerful 🧲 to grab it out. Now just have to clean up the mating surfaces and bolt her back together. Really wish I had an aluminum intake, as many times as I've taken this thing apart.. wouldn't be quite the pita if it was stock height, but the damn top or the engine bay is 5 ft up. Nothin to do, but just do it I guess. Thanks!

If you haven't thought about it, Why not use your engine hoist to set the cast iron intake manifold on the motor.
