Sorry if this post is redundant, I’ve been looking on the Internet with conflicting answers. What I’m trying to find is what is the frame width over the rear axle of a 2006 Super Duty I have a 73 Crewcab that I’m putting a B&W turnover hitch in And I’m wondering if it has the same frame with as a 2006.

06 frame is 37.7"
73 starts the 37.5" width
pre 73 34" width
outside rail to outside rail
73 f250 is what you must be referencing but the 73 f350 I have is 34” I’m thinking of just cutting down a b&w to fit my truck since there doesn’t seem to be one the right width.
I assumed, and you see where that gets you. Yes the 350 followed the market trend of 34" frame widths. This made it so boxes were easier made and fit across manf. So yes the 350 followed the 34" width until 79. The 150 and 250 bumped out to 37.5 in 73 to 97 when it went out to 37.7
