Before that last thread was taken down, when I saw there was possible frame damage I was going to post up that after what you did with the full deconstruction of your engine, you'd probably be having a new frame shipped to your house and having every last nut and bolt moved over.
That would be another awesome write-up though.
Either way I hope it doesn't drag out too long. I've been without my truck for a few weeks now and I know how that can affect work. Best of luck! Hope you're back on the road soon.
I made out GREAT on the wifes car she slide off the road in winter a year ago and down a steep side the road onto a Pond that was frozen over.
I didnt break the ice and go in the drink
At the time all I could see was the drivers side front tire compleatly broken off and hanging by the Tie rod Only
I had it towed to inshurance preffered shop the shop checked it over and said the Engine Cradel was Bent and it was totaled
(For those that dont know the engine cradel is the frame peice on the front of the car)
I told them they better send someone to check it out as I didnt think it totaled
well they sent a Guy and the Dude at the shop Convined him it was Totaled with a Bent Engine cradel
Well those 2 IDIOTS was wrong DEAD Wrong that engine cradel had Manufacture Contores the Side that took the Impact Mirrored the Side that nothing happened
The Inshurance paid the Bank and paid the tow truck (I had a Bigger tow Bill then it cost to fix the car in the end LOL)
They still owed me 600.00 in the end It took me 400.00 to fix the car and I pocketed 200.00
Anthony it dont sound like you will get off that easy but Im preying for you
To swapp the Frame Basicaly means TOTAL Disassembly well maybe not total but a GOOD SIZE Job
Why don't you and the new guy from Houston hook-up (ConcreteAce)?! See his thread on "Value Assessment" not too far down (still need to learn how to link in another thread). He's ready to part out his 2wd, is there any frame difference you couldn't just swap up front if needed?
Good luck Anthony, what an absolute pain. Speaking of which: no signs of whiplash after that big a hit (your wife, that is -- I know you were in a sprint at the time )
on edit: strike that thot, his is an '04 -- too different...
There's a Super Duty, crew cab, long bed, 4x4 sitting on a property on Highway 88, in Gardnerville Nevada with a parting out sign on it. Let me know if you want me to check on it. I'd bet you could get the frame (and maybe a few body parts or axles etc) for a song.
