DIC and cruise control quit working @ same time
The driver information center DIC (current outside temperature, distance to empty, and miles per gallon readings) and the cruise control quit working at the same time. The indicator lights for both the DIC and the cruise control do not illuminate at all anymore. Any idea what could’ve caused these two things to go bad at the same time?

The trip display usually has it's own issue with surface mounted capacitors, and resistors either fully coming off the board, or one leg of the component. This is the most popular thread for diagnose/repair of the trip computer. Unfortunately I think all the pics no longer show.

Interestingly, the DIC, a.k.a., trip computer, illuminates if the key is in the run position, but the engine has not yet started. Then when the engine starts, the DIC goes blank. Anybody have ideas on what’s going on there?
also, the cruise control light on the dash will not turn on at all.
