F550 troubleshooting

Having some trouble with a f550 with 7.3 power stroke has a little hiccup when you rev it up but after it’s warm will stall when reved to 3 grand I just replaced tank and filter and cleaned lines because it was running out of fuel and had junk from the tank breaking down in the sending unit. This seems more of an electrical problem like something is telling it to shut off. It will start right back up after. Any help is appreciated thanks

Any codes? Fuel pressure?

First place to look for random electric gremlins is underside of thee 42 pin harness. It drapes across the driver side valve cover where it can chafe and cause shorts.

Also what year? Electrical changed over time.

You may be facing more than one problem here.
With that said, if you had debris plugging up the fuel supply leading to dropping the tank, then you also need to check the inlet side of the fuel pump for debris there, too. There is a screen built into the inside of the fuel pump that is very difficult to ever clean all the junk out of. On mine, I gave up and converted to a different form of fuel delivery that didn't involve that frame rail mounted fuel pump.
If you check your fuel pressure and it's good only at idle, don't believe that there is nothing wrong. What gets affected adversely and more often than pressure is the amount of fuel volume that is delivered to the engine. It will idle fine all day long, but then as soon as you put it to work, then fuel pressure drops way off because the fuel volume being delivered is no where near adequite to keep up with demand.
If all that checks out, then you also are having classic symptoms of a sticking IPR valve, it's mounted on the bottom rear of the HPOP oil pump in the valley of the engine.

Truck is a 2002 I just went out this morning and started it up and let it run for a while then took it for a drive stalled once on me then when I got back to the yard it shut off and now will start and shut right back off acting like it’s running out of fuel but why is it only running out of fuel when it’s to operating temperature. I did check the fuel pressure once when I first started working on this a month or so ago and I can’t remember exact numbers but I thought it was good at the time I’ll have to try it again and get some numbers on pressure
I also checked for codes when I first started and no codes and no light

You tried swapping the CPS yet? I hate to be the CPS guy, but it is possible.

How’s the oil level. Injectors are fired by oil so if there’s issues there then it will die.

Do you have any way to monitor ICP?
