I bought a 74 F250 crew cab 4x4 and the gauge cluster was missing. It is a F26 vin and the Marti report said it came with the 4 gauge option. I ordered a 74 with gauges cluster plate from LMC and my 18 pin plug is too wide to fit in the plate or the printed circuit. Everyone says these are year specific and will not interchange so what’s the next step. I am installing a new American auto wire harness so do I just find the narrower plug that should have been on the 74 and use it with the new harness. Please help.

The plug can be remade with the proper ends and crimper. You'll need the tool that releases the individual wires so you can reuse the plastic housing or source a new one.. If you have any further questions post back.
Did you try flipping the plug 180 degrees? One end is wide, the other is narrow. gotta match them up. There is only one width of plug, but there are different lengths. Yours looks like the correct length.
Here’s the connector from my ‘73. I was told by the guy at Centech wiring that it is a “GM style” connector. Not sure if that’s accurate or when they were used in our trucks but that’s the info I have. The connector body measures just over 2 1/4 inches in width.
Good question but one that I can’t answer. The guy at Centech has always been very helpful. Give him a call and see if he can help you. They’re not open on Friday though (which magically seemed to be the day that came around whenever I had a question) so you’ll have to wait until the long weekend is over.
