Thanks for replying. I've been out of town, just checked the link.
I checked the fuel pressure, 40 pounds, and there is no fuel in the vacuum line.
Any idea what the voltage errors could mean?
By the way, I also checked the EGR valve. It just begins to open at 1 pound vacuum. The book says to check it at 5-10 pounds, but doesn't mention when it should start. It is fully open by 5 pounds.
I'm not super familiar with your year of Ranger, but one thing I would be looking at would be functionality of the evaporative emission system. I would also look at the seal on the gas cap and make sure it's sound, assuming that it's a non-vented cap. Also, when you put the gas cap on, make sure it clicks a few times too so it's good and tight.
