Angry Help Me Please Urgent

ok i hooked up a new exaust manifold last week. now every tiem we drive it during the eccelartation time from 0 to 15 it makes a terrible shutterign noise. it is nto the engnine. nor do i think it is the tranyn what else coulld it be. could it possible be the exaust smakign against the tranny mounting member? the cross memebr on the frame. i do have an exaust leak on the pipe that comes from the rigth side of the manifold to before the cats it suposed to be conencted its not rigth now cause i ahev to tape it up their. im goign to use some of that metal chimney tape?? is that a good idea.

what could be causing that popping noise??

please help

thank you so much

Sounds like it could be a heat shield covering the catalytic converter(s) a little loose and vibrating. Possibly one of the spot welds broke.

No, tape is NOT a good idea. It'll tear. Attach it right and you'll probably fix everything. If you can't do it, take it to an exhaust shop or a dealer.

Did you get new gaskets and install them? If not I suggest you buy some. Whenever you replace a manif. you need to get new gaskets for it to seal properley.

yes i did, got the felpro gaskets. some peole on here told me nt to put them in becasue they willl crack and leek. maybe thast tru but its like 1-3 years down the road. unlike leaving it with no gasket and gaving it leak all the time. my father said their was no metal noise it was all exaust. i dont agreee wiht him their was somekind of knockign going on. but only form 0-15 ??

could the tranny be low on trans fluid? ill have to check it wehn i get home from school as well as im gunn crawl under( in the snow) and see what the #&^% is making that noise.

it didnt seem to have any problem pullin ghte 500LBS of lumber in the bed.

see i cant drive yet so this is what my dad has told me. it seem harder to accelerate? would that have to do with the pipe that goes in before the cats being broken off?
i think it might effect the O2 sensor.

when not actually moving the engin revs compleatly normal. and i had no problems with it speedign up when was backing down my drivway and floring it forward and sloshing through the mud. i had never hered that noise before.

so im goign to check all the exaust, and check the tranny fluid!

that seem liek a good place to start?

the actual noise is commign from under the passenger side cab

thank you for you help

It might be your tranny, but I woulddn't think so, The only other thing I can think of is if along with the noise you feel a shuuder then it could likely be the tranny or you might be low on diff. fluid.
