Question Temperature sending unit and wiring
We have a 88 F150 with the 4.9L in it. It looks like there is an old spring going from the unit to the console cluster. So far Im coming up short trying to find any info on this. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you are describing a Robertshaw-type mechanical thermometer some hack installed. The factory gauge is electric and the wire for it looks like any other wire used in there...
