So my F-250 has the 3-leaf rear spring pack. I read that the "camper package" gave the F-250 an additional overload spring and brackets to mount to the frame to help when hauling/towing heavy weight. Does anybody know if there's a kit or part # you can purchase to add this to a truck that didn't originally come with it?
I took the air bag kit off this truck when I bought it because I don't like fooling around with air bags and because even fully deflated they still affected the ride quality when unloaded. I'd rather just do the OE camper package spring upgrade. But part #s are hard to track down.
I thought the camper package also included a rear sway bar.
My F350 has overloads but no sway bar and is listed as not certified for a camper.
It does but that part isn't important or of interest to the OP for his use. Sounds like he just wants that upper overload, just like your 350 has.
I don't think I've seen just the top overload (auxiliary spring) for sale outside of a full spring pack. The frame mounted bumpers look to be available and the longer ubolts required.
Keep in mind even with the stock top overload spring, the truck will still drop 4ish" with a heavy load. Just to much room between the top spring and frame bracket.
There are a few other aftermarket option out there. Depending on how heavy and how often needed.

I agree with this completely. Do not rely on the factory configured overload to keep a loaded truck level because it will not. The airbags were a better choice IMO. The overload on my F350 is all but worthless, it almost never engages the stops and if it does, don't drive at night because everybody will flash you, the nose will be sky high.

That’s how I feel about my stock overloads as well. Just too much gap before they engage and the trucks already squatting before they come into play.
if I was trying to correct squat under heavy load the last thing I’d add would be factory overloads.
When I had my 2012 F250 with no overload springs but had a plow package (bought it off the lot) any time anything was ever added to the rear it would sag and nighttime get the oncoming headlight flash.
I added the Torklift Stable Loads and even with the truck loaded down it kept the truck level and didn't get flashed. They were never undone just left them in the springs for over 200k miles with no problems.
I put Timbrens on my F-250...big mistake! It's basically riding dead axel with a load. They do very little more than the stock bump stops. Basic differance is the Timbrens offer a very LITTLE "give' or spring affect. The truck will still squat to some extent. Hey if you load your truck it should squat...thats one function of the springs!! I disagree with saying the overload spring is not good. They are set up so when the truck has a reasonable load they come into play at ABOUT the point the truck sits level. Where a bog problem is when people install the stupid (my opinion) level kits then load the truck and the rear end squats. There's a little adjustment near the headlights called 'Headlight Adjusters'. Hmmmmm, wonder what thats for? Obviously most people here in Florida have no clue!!
I called Ford and asked about the overload spring and they told me I would be OVERLOADING the truck! Not available but when I bought the truck they would install them for several hundred dollars!!
I changed the bump stops to 2" and the overload now engages much quicker. I quit using the airbags after doing this, plus with bags, it increased the sway when on the bags.
