Disassembling snap ring rims

I normally post on the '48-56 board, I own a few Bonus Built trucks. I just recently bought a few old snap ring type rims for the older trucks at an auction and need to tear them down to access their condition. I had no idea of how to do it so I did an internet search. I found lots of posts asking how to do it but none on how to do it. I found this video on Youtube and it was very helpful. I was able to dismantle them in few minutes. BTW, the wheels had very bad rubber so I used a sawsall and angle grinder to cut the tires off.

Bob posted this over on the 48-56 board first, and it struck me that guys here have as much or more reason to know the technique because there are fewer viable wheel replacement options on the older trucks. And finding shops that know how, or are willing to do these wheels, is becoming difficult. Stu

I've got 4 of those rims off my '36. I know one is rotted on the 'bottom'. The others may be bad as well. I will have to check.
