They look nice though I prefer the steps. In this case, I am a function over form guy.

IMO, from across the parking lot, it’d look the same, unless they’re paint matched. Kinda like black wheels all look like a black blob across the parking lot, can’t really make out details until you’re right up on them. My guess is you could park nose to nose to a truck with the steps and no one would ever notice the difference.

Almost looks like a stone guard now. I have Antimatter Blue and if I ordered a new body style I'd get it the same color and black wouldn't look bad. Probably the Dark Bronze Metallic would look good with black also.

Without being paint matched they don't really address the esthetic issue that the steps create. Why did you choose to paint them black instead of body color?

I don’t understand why people are buying these flimsy looking panels to get rid of a nice functional feature.

Because they think the bed step is ugly.

More so than these panels?

$300 (and more if you want them painted) to get rid of a better looking functional part is why it doesn’t make sense.

but I guess you’re right everyone has different preferences.

Better looking? On a chevy maybe.

Functional? Not if it never gets used due to the configuration or use of the truck.

Without being paint matched I think it looks like a repair panel that isn't finished yet.

If you’re looking for an honest answer/opinion I think it looks like crap.
like mentioned above, it looks like unfinished body work with a patch panel. A hard pass for me
