air bag code 19 - replace RCM

Hello, I have a code 19 on the airbags, which means the RCM has to be replaced or reset, yes they went off. I was planning on pulling it and sending it in and having reset.

My question is, can I pull the RCM and still drive around until I get the unit back? I really cant afford to not have a vehicle for how ever long it takes to get it back.

Sure. Just don't get into any accidents where airbags could have helped you since they won't be operational.

You might be able to fix it yourself
They burn the thermal limiter when the air bags go off most of the time
Radio Shack still sells the thermal limiters

Are you talking about in the RCM? I have not seen anyone mention any thermal limiter in any of my searches.
