Adding Firestone airbags

I'm being lazy in searching.

I'll be adding the Firestone airbags to my dually and vaguely remember about putting a T inline for the air line so there is only one fill port instead of the 2 fill ports for each individual bag. Is this correct or do I want 2 individual ports for each bag seperate?

Pretty sure you want a single input so each spring is supporting the load uniformly. That's how I did it many years ago.

Individual bag fill ports allows for evening an uneven load.
It also keeps the truck from leaning as much in turns because the air from one side doesn't get pushed into the opposite side.

That's what I thought it was with one fill port and a T that the air can go from one bag to the other in a turn. Where as with individual fill ports the air will always be the same in a tun from side to side.

I guess filling 2 individual ports isn't the end of the world then.

Setup I bought, with the onboard compressor, has a dual fill panel and gauge, fill both bags from the driver seat, makes it no job at all.

How much body roll are you getting that would "push" air from one side to the other ?......................... OP, run one and be done with it, simple and clean.

I know guys that have one fill port and have no problem with big heavy trailers. I've heard it can be an issue with truck campers.

I have two completely separate fill lines on mine. I have been meaning to tee the two lines together with a shutoff valve. That would make it very quick and easy to fill both bags to the exact same amount at the same time from one line. Then after filling, close the T- valve and the two bags become effectively totally separate.

I don't know how much would get transfered but if you ask my wife after I move the 5th wheel you would think I was on one set of tires around curves from some displaced items In the trailer.

So one and done?

No onboard compressor here I carry a 12v compressor all the time.

Depends on how heavy the load is, or top heavy.
It's a simple matter to run two valves, plenty simple to air them up too.

2 fill ports is the way to go. But later on as time goes by it will be easier to find where there might be a leak as only one side will leak down.

2 fill ports is a must for truck campers. The kits come with instructions to run them separately

Thats the way I’d run it. One fill port, but have ball valves to each side to close afterwards to isolate each side

2 fill ports. Ran mine through the rear license plate holder and bolt the tag to them.

I ordered it yesterday from Amazon and will be at a hotel in WA when I arrive there in the beginning of the year. Did order the T with it but deciding still on it.

Thinking of running it to the fuel door area for ease of filling. Still thinking about that though.
