Does anybody have a source for the 2 top bellhousing plugs for a 77' F150 4x4 400 manual transmission.
I found a fork plug but no luck on the top ones.
I'm trying to remember there being a plug/plugs but coming up with nothing. I'm pretty sure you're talking about is the vent that is in the casting just above the center hole?
Looks like they'll let air escape after it's sucked in under the flywheel in that big gap, might just help cool the clutch? Anything, like water or oil runs in them will run out below too after flowing down the back surface. That cover at the fork is good because it's even with and near the clutch lining.
I'm not sure and all the other trucks I have are small Motors or C6
I would figure they would have a drain in the bottom but seems like water would wreck the clutch.

IDK
Imagine the fly wheel clutch and pressure plate turning at 3,000 rpm. It's quite a whir going on inside of the bell hosing and the pressures created by centrifugal force needs to go somewhere. So its' pushed out along with any heat.
