Interesting fuel colors

Just completed at a 2300 mile trip, 12,500 on filters.

I go through tens of thousands of gallons of fuel years, Red, Green, Clear overall. Just not sure what the white swirl is.

This truck runs on straight pump fuel.

That’s the CP4 giving you your Christmas present!

j/k. I hope it’s nothing. I can’t recall seeing that when I’ve drained diesel before.

Negative Ghost Rider, I just completed a trip from Kansas City to Knoxville down to Georgia and back to Kansas City.

Besides rolling one of buggy's, It was a good trip.

Leaving out of Chattanooga on 24, going up a incline, the truck defueled, got a warning for low fuel pressure.

Dash showed low pressure and reduced power for a split second, check engine light and it did reduce for a split second.

Maintain highway speeds all the way back to KC with no issues.

Looks like some bad fuel…looks milky

Im sure you’ve seen enough diesel in your life to know it shouldn’t look like that

I’ve never seen mine drain out much different than the attached picture

I've pumped thousands of gallons of diesel and not once was it cloudy like that. On the big trucks, if you can't see clear to the bottom of the tank, then somethings wrong. I suggest running a couple tanks with some treatment to remove water.

My first thought was water also, I’m not an expert however but my experience with water in fuel (both gas and diesel) it doesn’t turn milky like it does in oil.

So I’m not sure what it would be.

Right, water should seperate from the diesel. DEF however does cloud up diesel when mixed with it. I think the conversation would be very different if DEF was actually the cause though.

the article posted above does say with enough agitation it can start to emulsify and make it cloudy/milky though

Now I’m not sure how likely that is but apparently it can happen

Definitely not any DEF in it, I let the pan dry, there was no crystals, touch of water in it

Besides the blip in power and light, the truck ran as it always ran, ran good.

The truck sat about 24 hours, had to get the Christmas Eve and breakfast morning out of the way.
