Mechanical engagement has always been more reliable than electric, at least thats my troubles with all vehicles of the last few decades. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Dealerships I called won't give loaners during diagnosis. They want my truck for multiple days to diagnose and all refuse to give a loaner. They all have waitlists too and say depending on when they can get it in to work on it they may have no loaners available.

yeah it’s crazy how messed up things are when it comes to waiting. What can we do?
society has pushed the current and upcoming generations so far away from any sort of work that involves using our hands that I guess it’s impossible to have good mechanics in the numbers we need them.

Youre such a deterrent to open conversation I’m surprised they haven’t gotten rid of you yet for dragging every conversation into the dirt.

Yeah, they don't care. My transmission is leaking and no one could get me in for weeks for diagnosis so I told them I cant stop driving it because Ford builds so many problem vehicles the dealerships are booked out for weeks. If it blows up they will just let the tow company drop it off in the lot until they can get to it. The customer is an inconvenience nowadays.

Needless use of it especially in cold freezing temps is not the best idea.
I always use mine because I often parking on slight inclines that otherwise cause the truck to come to rest against the parking pawl, the transmission makes a ruckus when I take take out of park the next time I move. this is more exacerbated when I have a trailer hooked up.

I have a significant hill out behind my shop and I hate when customers drop their trucks off and park back there without using the parking brake. Just the sound of the parking pawl being forced and the actual effort taken to get it out of Park you think would be enough for some people to think maybe this isnt the best way. Never had to repair one yet but sure have enough trucks that click a few teeth before engaging Park.

that's what I told them with a leaking fuel tank when it was over 1/2 full. I'll drive till it burns down, and I had it documented with them to try and fix it.
Got my tuck back 1 week ago from the 2 week inconvenience for getting another oil pan, and an oil cooler due to them leaving a tool under it and smashing the pan and cooler from driveshaft yoke.
Guess what, check the fluids yesterday it had no coolant in it. They forgot to top off the coolant when they changed the oil cooler.
my mistake for not checking it before I left. Should have learned.
