I got code P24AF, dealer wanted $878 for put in the particulate matter sensor. I looked up the part number I needed as JC3Z-5L239-C and ordered the part. It came in and the cord length from the box to sensor is only 20 inches. I dropped the spare tire and got part number HC34-5L239-DA off the one on my truck and measured the cord length that I need at about 36 inches. I am returning the incorrect part but I am having a very hard time locating the one I need, can anyone help me please? 2018 F250 Lariat crew cab 6.7L, 6-3/4 box. Thanks,
P24AF code (exhaust gas temperature over spec). Could be a faulty sensor or something came unplugged. Can you take it in for a PCM calibration/update? I might need it, IDK. Might get the service manager to do it for free; bring a box of donuts. Oh, did you check part number number is GC3Z5L239A - Diesel Exhaust Particulate Sensor. About $150 buckaroos these days.

The dealer did not tell me it needed a PCM calibration. I checked all the connections and all the sensors in the exhaust seemed tight. This dealer is not the bring the donuts to do anything for free. They told me that the problem would probably be covered then charged me a $205 diagnostic fee to tell me a code I already had and that it wasn't covered under warranty. But if I gave them $878 to change the particulate matter sensor they would waive the diagnostic fee. My truck has 43,000 BTW. I bought it in July of 2018.
