dropping my 4x4
dropping my 4x4
I was looking into leveling my 95 4x4. It sits about 2.5 to 3 inches higher in the rear in bone stock form. I don't really want to get into the front leveling kits as alignments on these trucks are a pain in the wallet. My thoughts to level the truck is to remove the factory 2 inch lift blocks between rear axel and leaf springs. I know my wife would thank me as she has a hard time getting into the truck as it sits.
Other than needing new U bolts or using some spacers on the stock ones, will removing the lift blocks from the rear cause any issues with the stock shocks or driveshaft angle?
I don't do any heavy hauling or towing with the truck. The most weight it will ever see is my 500 pound 4 wheeler.
Thanks,
Jeff

If its about ease of entry...a hoop step or a tube step might be easier. To your original question I would thing the slip yoke on the driveshaft would handle it but you might have to get a shorter shock.
Something on the windshield pillar inside the truck would be my preference.
Neither my Wife or I are spring chickens anymore
