Now that is a realllly cool truck. Are the axles 8 lug, or just the caps?. Is that a turbo under there? WE need more info please. Oh, and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!! Those are 7 lug F250 light duty axles off my '99 donor truck. The engine is a '93 6BT turbo cummins. The cab and frame are original '36 BB farm truck. Everything else is a collection of parts I've scrounged up from swap meets and where ever, mostly none of it correct. It's sort of a rat rod. Haven't been on here for a while, forgot my password and changed my email. Good to be back.
Pretty much the same way I build my stuff. I keep it off to the side of the rat rod movement. Seven lug wheels??? What will they come up with next? Just keep doing what yer doing.
They are not full floating like the 8 lugs are either. Lug nut torque specs are 100 ft lbs which my tire shop figured out the hard way after a couple of studs.
Most of the rat rods around here are fenderless, lowered to the ground and maybe a chopped top. I tried to maintain close to the stock dimensions. The axles give it about an 8” wider track which I like the looks of. There is a lot of stock stuff on it or at least time period correct. The car stuff, headlights and bumpers came from a pile of parts I purchased.
I moved questions about the truck to a new thread. I sort of hijacked my own thread. My wife got the "Merry Christmas" sign from Hobby Lobby. She came up with the obvious location for the wreath and decided on the Santa in the back instead of a tree.
