recall 22e02 Particulate filter sensor

I just recived the notice that says ford did not install the sensor, and they are want to install the sensor. My question is how much damage has happened to the DPF without this sensor in place. It was not disclosed to me when they sold me the truck. I would not have taken the truck if I know that driving could/would damage the DPF.

I guess my next step is to contact ford customer services. Seems to be me the lack of discluser of this and the damage to the systems means the deal can be undone.

I don’t see how you not having a sensor won’t throw a leave you on the side of the road code…sounds fishy

Relax, ford is not going to let a truck be sold that will give them grounds for a law suit, or have 5k trucks sitting along side the road waiting for a tow.

Its a safe bet it’s a sensor to keep the epa happy and they probably got a temporary reprieve do to parts shortage
to turn it off temporarily. Parts are now getting caught up, they will install the sensor and turn the program back on.

Think of this way, you have a brand new updated sensor free on your truck.

it did not hurt at all. Prior years did not have this extra sensor.

I went into the 6.7 tech folder and looked into the 6.7L POWER STROKE UPDATES here.

It was in MY15 that the Particulate matter sensor and module was added after the DPF. This has to be what the recall is referring to.

There's also info in there on the diesel particulate filter pressure sensors as well.

OK I just got my letter today on this recall 22E02 & Customer satisfaction 22N05. It shows they shipped the truck W/O the sensor. The trucks run fine for 25K miles so why would I need this. Reading the letter it appears they want to install the Particulate Filter sensor and reprogram the PCM, If I do not have the sensor installed Decmer31 2026 it's on me. If it's run fine for 25K miles why would I want to do this? Mileage is good, way better than my 2015, pulls great and no codes.
