In 2019 I bout the z series which is the frameless glass that looks like oem windows.
bought cab high becuase I wanted the z series and wthat wasn’t avail mid high caps.
paid about 3400 at the time since it had lights, carpeting, and some other mild do dads
then i discovered the “pac-cap” which is a drawer that mounts inside on the roof. Drawer slides out as far as the back tail gate. Put in roof tracks for higher pay load on the drawers…I think that set me back another 1400 to 1600.
then..since I now have roof tracks…bought so cross bars in case I ever need then.
i sure wish they would have had the z series in mid high or super high cap versions.
but , yes, expensive then and more so now.

Keep an eye on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist for a used one, but be patient. I bought my Snugtop with Leer Locker overhead storage($900 option) for $1250. It was Star White, but found someone to paint it Oxford White for $600. Called my local dealer and they told me the way that shell was setup, would’ve cost close to $5k. It is carpet lined, sliding front glass, that tilts down for cleaning, and has the power locking hatch that is programmed to my fob.

Sigh…. Years ago when I first got my 14 F150, I waited for 3-4 years and finally found exact Leer midrise shell long bed in same silver color as my truck and got it for $1k. I may do the same thing to wait for an available used one somewhere within 100 miles locally for my next truck.
