Another CP4 Failure
Truck has approximately 275,000 kilometres. I've owned it since new, regular oil, fuel filter changes, fuel additive since new.
Diagnostic - CP4 Failure - Nothing better than seeing the glittering metal inside the fuel pump.
Any way, new S&S CP4 is going in as well as all the other bits and pieces. Bill will be somewhere around $13K all taxed in after core charge..
Terrible to say but I am somewhat relieved it will only be, lol, $13k for the repair. I was expecting $20K+ for this repair. Don't get me wrong it sucks but the truck is set up the way I want it. I've air bagged it, levelling kit, BD diesel 63mm turbo kit and this will be my last truck. 60yrs old now so my travelling days are getting close to an end, at least the trailering etc.
Anyway that's my story and I can stop worrying about when this pump will fail.
Oh yeah I got away from this forum for a couple years and only just discovered there was a new pump and the DPK kit available a couple months ago. I was looking into doing the pump or kit but have been dilly dallying, my mistake.
Word of advice, stay up to date with this site and if your truck is around the 250K mileage (kms) get a new pump!
Cheers.

I sure do feel for Chep with the CP4 failure but I see his point on keeping his truck, good luck with it Chep
