So I have this used Craftsman model 536.889252 Snow blower and its a nice higher end heavy duty machine but after using it twice the drive wheels no longer go forward or reverse (It just "freewheels")
On most Hydrostatic Lawn tractors there's a transmission disengage Pin in the back that allows you to move them when performing maintenance but I don't see anything like that on my Snow Blower.
Hoping someone knows about these as I've never owned one and maybe that's what caused the drive function to quit working?
I googled and found your post in a snowblower forum ( not much help there from what I could tell).
Anyway, the pdf manual there doesn't indicate anything about a hydrostat transmission. Maybe that's an option , but I didn't see it in there.
If it is the standard deal, there's a drive belt (shown in the manual and the whole bleeping thing has a drive disc a wheel drive wheel makes that turn -- it is moved in and out to change the speed. They do cause problems. I'd take another look. There are also some wheel lockouts shown in the manual that could cause issues.
