If that's the case a 1/4 fuel line cut into a little look alike should work no? I might try it if I can't find a compression sleeve today. Truck is like a half hour away in a sketchy city so I just want to get it home.
If you're in a tight spot like that you can try to use the existing Parker sleeve. 9 times out of 10 they usually crumble apart when you take the fuel line off though. I'm sure somebody on here has tried a cut piece of fuel line at some point, worth a shot just to get the truck out of the sketchy part of town
Yea it crumbled apart. Anybody have experience with these dorman blue springs I guess it comes with 1 but not sure if I'm going to throw it in. Only ordered it for the cap.
I wouldn’t change to the blue “high pressure” spring unless you can check the actual pressure. Mine runs 72 with the “stock” new spring.
I think @udsuth78 has a method for using hose as a sealing sleeve.
Not sure it's a full fledged method, but back when I had a fuel bowl I figured out that vacuum hose makes a decent substitute for the overpriced factory replacements.
Yea this is the blue doorman one that came with the kit. I might throw it in and try it, I mean hopefully, boys at doorman check this kinda **** before selling parts to us poor folk. But they probably don't.
I found some boys. A local company named Central diesel injection had them. I guess they have all kinds of stuff so will start going to them more.i couldn't flare it very nice where it was so had to bend the line a bit so i could get my flare tool on there and bend it back. but it's on there. It leaked a bit at the start but has sealed up now. I blew a boot on way home an but it back on with a thumb wrench grrrr got it tightened up. Seems to not be making **** all for boost tho so have leaks I can hear somewhere.

Oh gawd, I think I just pee'd a little. That's some funny ***** right there. Dorman... Quality Control??? Na that ain't their style. It might even be in their bylaws or something.

Hahaha Im glad i made someone laugh ya, i dont trust doorman either but. I put the blue one in. Truck idles wayyyy better. Might take it out tho don't wanna wreck ****. Take it out till I can steal a gauge from the shop for fuel pressure.
There is ZERO advantage to increasing fuel pressure. 55-60psi is perfect. The stock fuel system also works perfectly and does not need anything modified.
The Dorman FPR is fine. I don’t know how long they last, but I haven’t replaced one yet.
Ive found quite a few bad factory FPR’s in the last couple of years. Failure mode is fuel getting past the seals on piston and causing low fuel pressure. I typically discover this condition AFTER installing a fuel pressure gauge - which I think ALL of these trucks should have.
I don’t think it’s hard to not break the factory FPR housing. I’ve always wondered why so many people have trouble with them.
My guess is people probably over tighten the line on the fitting? Don’t let the nut bottom out. If it does, the sleeve is definitely worn out.
You can get away with reusing the Parker Vibraloc sleeves most of the time. If it leaks, you’ll need a new sleeve from Ford, International or a hose/fittings store.

Cold here in canada. I went to just touch the fuel line of the fpr with a wrench and it snapped. The doorman seems to he even cheaper qaulity but, got the truck out of the ghetto atleast lol. thanks again for everybody's advice and words of wisdom.
Gotta ask, what are the ghettos of Red Deer Alberta Canada like exactly? Got lots of junkies roaming around shooting up maple syrup and panhandling for beer money?
No offence it's just me being me. The day I stop being a smarta** is the day they're putting me in the ground.

It's brutal actually, damn crack heads and indians steal **** all the time man. You dont dare leave one of these trucks in the city without a club on and fuses pulled or a kill switch. I have had all 3 I've owned stolen. All of my buddys have had theres stolen atleast once. Real bad meth heads and idiots shooting up fentyl they have these safe injection sites all over the city and my truck was like 3 blocks from 1. I won't even drive the truck to red deer to go grocery shopping without leaving somebody with the truck. And it's like impossible to get theft insurance on these trucks as there so commonly stolen that they want 4000 dollars down just to start for theft coverage. It's nuts. So my last truck I had about 20k into it and got a big **** you. This one will not be getting borrowed if I can have anything to do with it. If your truck is bone stock sometimes if your with the right insurance company they will insure you for theft.

Damn it man, that sounds like a crazy place to live! Just a little tip that is easy to do, I take a kryptonite bicycle lock, I think it is like 6 or 8 in long, turn the wheels all the way to the left when you park it and lock the Pittman arm to the leaf spring. If they steal it they can only turn left and usually once they realize it they bail on the truck.
