We usually recommend spicer balljoints and moog Tierod ends it usually gives a great service life. As far as maintenance and grease goes I usually do about 2-3 pumps per Tierod end every oil change which is every 3000 miles on my trucks.
Those Spicer balljoints greaseable or sealed? I got rid of the greaseable u-joints awhile back and am still cleaning up the mess lol.
I put a new Moog tie rod kit on mine when I did the blue top steering box over the summer. No complaints.
I'd go with the sealed Spicer ball joints next time around if I'm in a position to be choosy about it. Delete 4 more grease zerks that need attention and don't worry about it. They're messy just like the greaseable u-joints are and probably not necessary for a light duty rig.
Just for future reference if anybody ever needs good deal on Spicer sealed ball joints cheapest place I have found them is Jeff's bronco graveyard. They are $69 per side for 1 upper and 1 lower. Or they do a key for $199 that comes with 2 uppers 2 lowers. 2 Spicer big axle seals at the knuckle. 2 inner axle dust seals at the tube. And new o rings for the hub bearings. I got the full kit from them couple weeks ago.
I generally find lifetime warranty parts have the shortest life span.
with XRF, the way they market it, I thought they were boasting about durability and longevity more than anything. I guess we'll see. There are bad apples and maybe he got one of them. I find it hard to believe they wouldn't even last 15K. Even a no name brand off amazon would likely survive 15K
To be fair, my truck probably sees more front end stress than most. They definitely weren't highway miles.
I believe he was referring to just the Spicer ball joints. Not the Spicer tie rods. As he said he put a xrf tie rod kit on his.
yes, thank you

I like oem and spicer too. But not when a complete XRF front end kit is the same price as one OEM tie rod.
Tpayne was correct, i was refering to just ball joints and/ or u-joints. I won't use anything but spicer and they are affordable

that's where I get a ton of parts from too, I don't know how he can sell these parts for such a great price. I just got my hub assy seals from him for cheaper than the knockoffs. I'm talking about the major ones that everyone is selling for $60-70

I hear you. I have 35's on offset wheels. I drive off road a lot. My truck is not a pavement queen all the time.
I would have went spicer and hope I don't have short life with their tie-rod/ drag link ends like you did with your ball joints.
If I do have issues, i will allow for 1 second chance, otherwise i will go back to OEM
