My 79 bronco custom has stock P235-75-R15 tires on it and I found some bigger tires that i want to put on it and I was wondering what you guys think of my find. The tires i found are 31-10.5-15LT Goodyear Wrangler AT's. They are the size that I have been looking for and I was hoping to hear what you people think about the Goodyears.
I really like the Wrangler tires. My buddy has 33x17s on his 94 F250 Turbo Diesel w/one ton suspension and no lift, and it looks good. Performance wise, I haven't heard any complaints. They are good looking tires, either way.
They are o.k. if you don't pay too much for them. I used to have that exact size in Wrangler M/T. In fact I still have the spare. If you pay too much you will be disappointed. If you are getting a good deal on them go for it otherwise you could probably do better. I screwed up and went with a 32 AT and wished I had went with a M/T. I liked the Wrangler MT I had better than the Dueller ATs that I just replaced with Terratrac ATs which I like better than the Duellers.
I run 31 10.5 x15's on my Bronco....they are not goodyears..they are sport kings AT's...
last set I had..I got almost 40000 miles out of them...would have got more but my radius bushings was bad...they are fixed now...should get 50000 aleast from this set...they do great in snow...not bad in mud..they clean out real well in mud...just not much bite...
have 33in Conti M/T have about 50k on them, glad I bought 5 for the full size spare, makes rotation nicer and last longer. Be prepared for loud tire sound and vibration, but they do look great. Didnt even get around to lifting the truck yet either, they stuff right in with no rub.
check my pics in my profile, same as avatar pic but larger. I have a trailmaster 4in lift, but never got around to installing it yet. 33s will make it look like you need to lift it, and it does look better lifted, at least a couple inches. I only get rub on the plastic fenderwell when the wheel is cut all the way to the right during normal driving, but that is from a previous blowout ripping this fenderwell apart and my fix with a handful of sheet metal screws. Off road it does bottom out a lot easier, so I have to be a little more gentle til it gets my but motivated to get that lift in.
I have a set of 31 10.5 Dunlop Mud Rovers on my Ranger and they are the best all around tires in my opinion. Even in the mud they clear all most as well as the 35" Swampers I run on my Bronco. On the road they are a lot quieter than Swampers. I have had Goodyears, BF Goorich, Swampers, Mickeys, and Monster Moudders in the past and I swear by these for a small truck. The ride is great and so is the performance. If you want something more agressive get a 3 or 4 inch lift and put some Swampers on it. If you just want to stay lower use more of a street tire and you will be happy

Ok now i have a question. If 33s will fit without a lift with only minor rubbing. Will 35s fit on a 4" susp. lift with only minor rubbing? Im not planning on doing any rock climbing, or any major flexing if any at all, just mostly street and playing in the mud. So what all will i have to do to fit 35s with a 4" lift?

It really depends on the brand of the tires. Different brands overall diameter are different. Some 33's are really only 31's and some 35's are really only 33's. If you have a true 33 and go to a true 35 with the same width you should be ok with a 4" lift. But if you have a 33 with a smaller od and go to a true 35 or a 35 with a bigger width you may have problems. Be sure and check thee tire specs of what you have now and what you are getting. If you go on the Swamper Site they have the specs for their tires there. National Tire out of WV also has specs list for their tires and they sell most everything. Good luck And remember if you are goin through the trouble of addind the suspinsion lift adding a 2 or 3 inch body lift wouldn't cost much or be to much more work. I have a 6" suspension lift and 2" body lift on my 79 and can squeexe 38's under it.

personally i do not like the wranglers, my dads 76 lost the box due to the wranglers, both treads came off like they were merely retreads and took both fenders, they both still had about 40% tread. just my 2 cents, we might have just had a bad pair
