Distributor is stuck

Distributor is stuck on the 5.8 engine I'm using on the 56 Mercury I'm tinkering on. I've been soaking it with Seafoam Creep last couple days and no luck so far..anyone else run into this problem and been successful..?

carefully use a oxy acetylene torch and a pipe wrench to break it loose, if that fails break it off and cut it out of the block carefully.

Wouldn't cooling the distributor body (contracting) be better than heating (expanding) . I have never used it but wouldn't dry ice work ?

Yeah, I'm picturing that aluminum distributor body melting into a big puddle with the oxy/acy torch. Some people's kids.

Soaking with some type of penetrating fluid and gentle pressure from a big pipe wrench has been the time honored method that I know of. Might try a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf. That seems to creep into most anything.

I was able to get it free. I used my MAP torch and heated the block around the base of the distributor and not directed at all on the aluminum then quenched it with that Seafoam Creep penetrating oil. Used a 12 crescent wrench and tapped back and forward with a hammer. Took three tries before it started to move. Now I have two intake manifold bolts I have to drill and tap out , one on the front of each head. The two at the back were rusted pretty good too but the not as lucky on the two front ones..there is lots of slack on the timing chain and appears to have jumped one or two teeth on the sprocket, it's amazing the thing ran as well as it did before I pulled it out of the donor truck..
