Question

Pulling weight

I need help please. I have a 1196 Ford F150 2 door, extended cab with a covered bed. Can I pull 3000 lbs with my truck? I need to pull a 1983 Cadillac Seville, 4 door. I will appreciate any help you can give me. Glo

I would think you should be able to pull 3000 lbs with your truck.

Determining factors will be engine size, tire size and rear end gearing. Most seem to feel the weight limit for comfortable towing with a half ton is somewhere around 5,000 lbs so if you have a V-8 I would think you would be OK.

If your Cad only weighs 3000 lbs. it must not have the engine and tranny in it. I bet it weighs half again as much.
