1971 C500 VIN Decode / build help please!
Looks like you have a couple different wheel types. The ones with the split locking ring are safe and serviceable. I can't tell if you have any actual widowmaker two piece. More on that later.
C50 = C500, '70 & '71
C = 330 2V MD FT gas V8. (cast 360 crank with small crank nose, FE 1/4" oil pump drive and distributor, and other FE items)

You have a couple different wheels there. One is a locking ring type. These are safe and serviceable but require tube-type tires.
It appears your others are widowmaker types. Read up and beware doing anything with them while they are inflated:

Your 330 FT engine does not lend itself to hot rodding. If you repower, I suggest an automatic overdrive transmission so you can get a decent cruise RPM. A 460/E4OD combo would scoot you down the road. You'll need a controller for the transmission but those can be had.
The wiper panels and all the rest that is missing will be a junkyard search. Nothing for these trucks is reproduced and finding any NOS parts would be a miracle.
There are tons of these still in service, and many fire truck models with much lower mileage, and better condition than yours.
It's bad to pay too much for anything, but you may find out what paying too little nets you.
