I have a 95 that has an extreme rust problem as seen in pics… the wheel well is completely rusted though and i’m not looking to do any sort of welding myself so i’m wondering what is the cost of getting all of the rust fixed roughly (i have around 3 k to spend)
Few comments here. Not sure you will like any of them. Your question is a loaded question. cost will vary on a few things. Quality of work done, and how the repair is done. With your budget amount, you might be better off seeing about getting a set of fenders and bed from out west or down south that are much cleaner the what you have. If you what to get what you have repaired in a body shop I'm not sure your budget is enough.
You asked this question in “How to fix rust??” Why did you start another thread? From my experience, $3K is not enough to repair everything unless you do what was suggested and buy a used bed and fenders for a decent price.
I'm always in aw of what the north does to vehicle's I have a 95 and if you crawl under it the bottom is still just as red as it was new, zero rust and if I had 3grand I would drive down here and buy a rust free one
I always believe that if you can see the rust just imagine what you can't see as sure as you get it fixed a new spot will show up and after the repair you also need is a paint job to cover it and a good paint job is more than 3 grand
Agree with the previous reply. There is a LOT more rust than meets the eye. As you start to cutout the visible rust, more will appear. It's a pandora's box just waiting to spring open and eat up your wallet. The frame has a lot of rust showing in a few photos. Take a close look to see if it is just surface rust or something more ominous.
You are in for a lot more work and cost than you are budgeting for at this point.
That truck is too far gone, imho. That frame is very questionable. Best suggestion I have is take it to Krown, get it oil sprayed and keep oil spraying. Get what life it has left out of it and carry on. Or go south and bring up a southern truck. You’ll blow your brains out on that truck.
I like projects too, but $3k Cdn won’t get you anywhere today.

I understand, but i think that i miss wrote what i was trying to say i can spend more than that, i honestly don’t care about the repair she’s a good truck with less than 200k kms on it and has a solid engine. this was my dads truck so i really want to bring it to life, im just asking what the cost would be.

Hey thanks for the reply but this truck means so much to me it was the first truck that my dad ever bough it isn’t really meant to be a get what life you can out of it and move on type of deal. i have more to spend honestly i’m willing to spend 7 k to fix the rust if i need, it doesn’t have any more problems other than the rust engine is solid.

Hey thanks for your reply I did i’m far from a professional but from looking at it it seems to be mostly surface rust. i’m honestly willing to spend more like around 7 k i know it doesn’t really seem worth it but this truck means so much to be honestly

agree totally with that statement. I picked up an 87 f150 from vegas. the paint was still pretty much all in tact on the frame rails. rocker panels were all in super condition. dry arid climates are where to get these older trucks. running
gear may need work but at least you have a skeleton to work with.
Repairing rust that extensive would cost almost as much as a new truck
Repairs like that are better left for the Shelbys and real expensive COPO Camaros and the like
Ask me how I know, owning a 69 Boss 302 with some rust
I agree with the Southwest purchase of another truck to solve your problem beccaj
