Powered Running Boards
Good day all. I'm playing with the idea of trying to install a set of powered running boards on my 1973 F-350 Super Camper Special. I am thinking of maybe buying a used set of Ford Powered (Deployable) running boards fron a later model truck and building the structure under the truck to support them. There are a lot of different candidate models from several venders available, most notably AMP, Tough Truck and of course a set of used Ford stock steps available on the various resale sites. I'm just wondering if anyone on this forum has done it and, if so, was there a particular brand, year, model or type that worked best? What problems did you run into? I'm looking at putting the boards from a crew cab or similar to have them long enough to aid in getting stuff out of the bed. I think the ideal length would be around 80 to 87 inches. Any thought's or suggestions would be welcome.

I’m no help on the fitment, or which ones would work best as a donor, but want to subscribe to the conversation so that I can hear better answers.
I love the amp power steps on my Silverado, and on other friends Early Broncos, and would love a set on my 79 standard cab.
