The increased DEF use has been found to be expected with the '23+. Apparently they use quite a bit more than previous years.
You're in a 2019, is it 2wd? You must have gotten the rare extra eco version. I don't know what your every day drive consists of, maybe all highway, but my '19 averages about 13-14 MPG in my daily use, completely empty. The dash usually says 14-15 but it hand calculates to 13-14. The only time I can eek out 18-19 is with all highway use, and empty. Yours is special. What do you average empty, all highway?
It's 4WD. Empty at 70 I can get 19, at 65 on two lane highways I've seen as much as 21.
My 23 with over 8000 miles on it empty gets around 700 mpg and towing a #7000 TT 400 mpg. Yours seems to be using way too much unless you drive heavy on the throttle.

Reason: added miles driven

Ok then, that's not far off from what I average with my '19 when talking highway driving. Never tried going 65 on the highway for any meaningful amount of time, just can't do it haha. The difference must be in use, you said you are averaging 18-19 in your daily use, that means your daily use consists of mostly highway driving. Those of us whose daily use is not predominantly on the highway (like myself) are not surprised by a 12 -15 mpg average. The OP had some sort of load in tow for half the entire miles on the truck, and who knows what type of driving that consisted of.
What I don't use much of is DEF, but the 2023's do use a lot and the OP's sounds like it could be using more than some others. It would be nice to know exactly how much DEF has been added.
I bought a F350 Dually in March '17 brand new. It had the 4.10 gearing and a 6 speed. Always got 15 to 16 mpg around our little country town and 17 on the hwy @ 70 mph. Used very little DEF fluid until I hooked up our 17K pound 5th wheel camper. Fellow I sold it to already has over 150K miles showing and never had a problem with it. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned!!
I consumed a full tank in my 21' from SE Massachusetts to Vero FL last fall, I added 5 gallons when we arrived in Florida and then had to fill up when I hit PA on the return trip. This was towing my 5er.
So my buddy just got a 23 F550 cab and chassis, picked it up no more than 2 weeks ago.. It's his collision shop tow truck/flat bed. This is his tailpipe... Very weird.
So different than the 250s, 350s and 450s... I'm assuming the C&Cs have the derated 6.7s. I told him about the increased DEF use. His last truck was 17 F550.
He also has an emergency brake fault... It's happened twice already on tows. The brake won't come off. I guess it's an electronic emergency brake... He had to shut truck off and on several times to get it to come off.
It's going in for an alignment on Wednesday because the steering wheel is off. The salesman said they have been coming through with some having steering wheels upside down... He didn't specify but I'd imagine the salesman meant all models because I'm assuming they don't get as many C&Cs as they do the 250 to 450s...
I'll let the thread know on his DEF usage...
So my buddy's 23 F550 flat bed went to the dealer for an alignment. It ready had at least 40 miles on it when it went in... Even though it came from the factory like that, it did have to go to the equipment dealer for the flat bed stuff in PA I believe, but he had to pay for that alignment... Which is absolutely insane to me. Great job Ford...
My friend didn't seem to mind as he hated the Ram flat bed and was happy to get a new Ford but that's just nuts to me...
