Anybody ever had this apart?
I decided to change out my battery cables today, the positive cable (red line) passes through that bracket, so the nut (red circle)
on that stud has to come off but it won’t budge even with a lot of pressure. The negative cable attaches somehow on the back of the bracket. Unless I’m overlooking something, I don’t want to wring the stud off getting it apart.
I've had that all apart. It sounds like you're on the right track, apart from the challenges. In fact, I had that bracket off of there a month or so ago. I wish I would have known that someone would be interested, and I would have taken pictures. That nut should come off, and then you can take the bracket off of there and maybe a ground cable, and then there is another nut behind that with the stud through it, if I remember correctly. The stud is one piece with the second nut, again, if I remember correctly.
I got it off, thanks. That little nut was TIGHT but, after some cussing and hammering a 6 point socket onto it, it came loose.
Battery cables were pretty rough and the firewall solenoid to the starter solenoid wire had a couple of bare spots.
