Hi, I have a 95 AWD 4.0l Aerostar, and need to locate some 14" winter tires. I can find summer and all weather, but, it seems that no one anywhere has 14" winter tires any more. I seem to recall a thread here (I've searched but can't find it) about this and replacing the wheels with 15" ones, but can't find hubs in 15" to fit the bolt spacing. Has any one any pointers or thoughts please? Thanks.
Ranger and Explorer 15" wheels are the same 5 on 4.5" that you have. And every Ford and Mercury car made from some time in the '50s until the '80s or '90s.....
The only potential problem is that the hole in the center of the Explorer wheels are a little bigger than the hub boss on Aerostars. You need to also get the lug nuts used with those wheels, so they will center the wheels properly. They will be "lug-centric".
I'm using 215/65/15 tires on the wheels, and there are no issues with interference.
