2024 except or reject?

Sprinkled through many different threads, some have said or implied, they will reject their 2024 Super Duty.

So who is going to accept or reject, why?

Is it quality, fear of sabotage, pricing or lack of finance ?

I have 2 23's that have been roll over to 24 models with each having a $2,000 price increase.

Assuming my 24 Platinum 450 order ever gets built, I plan on accepting it. My 2016 Ram has held value well, but the more time that goes by the more chance for its value to decrease.

I really want the 450 for its turning radius. Here in the Midwest it seems like every campground was built in the early 1900s with single lane gravel roads and tight spaces - makes backing in a 41' 5th wheel almost impossible when people park right up to the road and your truck turns like a pig.

I don't want another used vehicle. I don't want another dealer inventory vehicle with options compromises out the wazoo. I am at a point in life where I can afford to buy what I want, but I agree the timing of exacerbated quality issues and the strike are suboptimal.

The Ford dealer I ordered from also owns the Ram dealer down the street which has provided excellent service on my current truck. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that their Ford service will be similar. If not, or if the manufacturer change from Ram to Ford introduces issues supporting their product then I will have to make use of the litigious options available I suppose.

Price increase, interest rates, after-strike quality concerns, quality concerns in general with all the BS tech in these things, and hands-on experience with a ‘23 model. I don’t like the 10-spd either the more I drive/ride in a friends ‘23.

I will accept unless something is wrong with it. My huge concern is that if I wait until next year, the prices will have a huge jump due to the big UAW pay raises. I will buy an extended warranty through Granger just to be safe.

How about buy now or wait for 2026 with the kill switch? I contemplate ordering a new one to replace my 19, for a few reasons, engine, transmission, better cameras, but then think, higher interest rates, higher initial price, higher payments and for what. Then I think, I can buy a lot of diesel for what it would cost to get 2 MPG more possibly from a new truck. Add in the recent strike and the setbacks in builds, and I think I will stick with my current 2019.

Barring anything major, I will accept delivery. I think (hope) the quality concerns due to the strike are overblown. If I end up having issues, I'll have a warranty and Texas has good lemon laws. I've not had major issues with any of my vehicles because I'm a pretty average user and take care of them. I keep them within their capabilities and stay on top of preventative maintenance.

The warranty and Lemon Law are your friends. I wouldn't refuse a truck just because it MIGHT have issues down the road.

Going to refuse mine. Originally placed the order because I couldn't find a decent used one. Ended up finding a great 2022 model and now no need for the 2024. Also very much prefer the styling of the 2022 anyway.

This ^^^

Even my pre-covid 2019 has had several little issues that should NOT occur before 100,000 miles. I cannot imagine buying a new one built by ticked off workers who have their minds elsewhere. Better make sure you have a great relationship with your dealer service dept.

And what happens next year when the deep recession hits and your new truck loses $30k in value in six months and you're stuck with a 10% interest note on it?

I plan to drive my '19 until it's either totalled or it's not financially feasible to keep repairing it, and hopefully I'm many many years from that point.
