The truck isn't a white 2011 Lariat, is it?

I'm not bad mouthing Amazon or RD Parts, I'd just be sure they are an official dealer of S&S is all..

I've bought from these guys before and they've been great.

I didn't buy the kit from them but from a dealer that's a member here. I bought the 1st gen kit with the SNAPP filters. The kit sold now is the Gen 2.1 kit with an aluminum filter head and a Donaldson filter as Parker could not keep up with the demand for filters from S&S.

I did buy the 2.1 upgrade kit, half off when it first came out, from Accurate Diesel and a few other odds and ends prior to that.

Buyer be aware is all I'm saying. Here's the page to find an official dealer plus lots of info.

X2 on your suggestion, I have bought stuff that turned out to be fake on Amazon.

I bought a Motorcraft FD4615 filter set that I firmly believe was counterfeit due to not only the differences in the packaging and box, but also due to the actual filters themselves...

But my point was that if there is an issue with the DPK kit and the seller on Amazon is not a registered dealer, assuming the kit is legit, than it wouldn't be covered by S&S.

But as pointed out above, there are instances of folks attempting to pass off counterfeit products as legit... This kit could be the real deal but just make sure they are an actual S&S dealer before buying it so if there are any issues, S&S will cover it.

I bought a 2012, didn't even think that it could have been deleted since my last truck was a 1999 with a 5" exhaust. It was deleted, but it did have the tuner with it. I eventually sold it back to the dealer though for a number of reasons. The county over from me started doing diesel inspections. I don't foresee that happening in my county, but you never know. The EPA has a web site that you can report deleted diesels to. Say someone videos you rolling coal, even if you aren't trying to, but there is black smoke coming out while you accelerate, they send it in with your plate number and next thing you know the EPA is knocking on your door. Thats all it takes these days to get busted, someone reports your plate after they get a nose full of your exhaust and next thing you know, you are out $40,000 and your truck is impounded and you either put it back to stock, or scrap it.

I also did not like how it smelled and the smell was getting to the cab at times. I loved the power it had, but the fuel economy was no better than stock, and it was loud, even with a Twister muffler. The rear quarter was also a biotch to keep clean, it was always covered in soot when towing. I now have an intact 2019 and it is so quiet I forget its a diesel. I manually control the DPF cleaning, and it doesn't use a lot of DEF. I think I filled it 6 times since buying it and have 22K on since then.

Weigh the risks, the chances of getting caught are higher than the chances of a complete exhaust failure. I don't think it is worth it to me. I have also found that the soot gives me breathing issues that didn't bother me in the past.
