Now that I’ve resolved the fuel outlet leak I have another fuel issue. Turns out the gas cap I bought from carpenter isn’t actually vented. I believe the reason I wasn’t getting a vacuum in the tank before this repair, is that the gasket on the fuel sender unit was in bad shape. Now that I replaced it, I’m getting a vacuum in the tank.
Everywhere I look they’re selling the same non-vented cap as I have. Where can I find the correct vented cap?
After leaving mine on spare tire and taking off.... (found it couple days later across hwy from station- bent into a taco..) I bought one on ebay. My tank is a 55 must be vented cuz there is no vent in tank. It was like 8-10 bucks, chrome and seems ok.
