new f-150

I think you'll like having one of these trucks if you're like most people that own them. I work on them every day and I'd own one. lol
Have you looked at a few different ones already? 4X4 or 4X2? What size engine?
If you snoop around the forum here for a while you'll probably find out pretty much anything you could imagine about these trucks. One thing to remember though is that on here we hear mainly about the trucks with problems, not the many more with no problems.
I've looked around on the forum and I've seen a lot of issues that people have with their trucks but, then again, that's what people post for, to find help. I guess I'd like to know that good, the bad and the ugly about the f-150's. They rate extremely well in the Consumer Reports but I'd like people's experiences first hand. Thanks again!
I'm sure in today's world, any of the major brand 1/2 ton trucks will serve you well.....Ford or otherwise. I guess they all have their particular strengths and weaknesses. For me, I just purchased my 7th F150 and all but one have been good, reliable trucks. I had a '91 that was an absolute disaster, but once Ford rebuilt most everything on it and painted it twice, it turned out pretty good.
I love this truck. It is tight, no rattles, drives great and gets 14mpg around town. Not bad for a 4x4.
I would suggest getting a V8 either a 4.6L or 5.4L. The gas mileage wont be that much different and the resale value down the road will be much greater. I prefer the 5.4L myself.
I am sure that you will get other opinions, but this is how I feel about these trucks. They aren't the best selling truck in the world for nothing!!!

Just to add my 2cents. I had a 2000 F-150 4X4 with the 4.6L SUPER CAB. Was a good truck just leased it so when the lease came do I sent it back.
Now I have a 2003 4X4 SUPER CREW F-150 5.4L, 17" TIRES JUST DRIVE IT BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND IT GETS 17-19 MPG.
THEN HIGHWAY DRIVING IT'S AROUND 21 MPG. BETTER THAN THE 4.6L. SO IT'S WHAT EVER YOU NEED. PERSONLY I LOVE MY 5.4L AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TOO THE 4.6L OR A 4.2L.

I've had a 76' f100 4x4 w/400cid, 98' f150 w/ 4.2L, 2001 f150 s-crew W/4.6L 4x2 and currently 03' f150 s-crew 4x2 w/ 5.4L. You will love the trucks to choose from, but I'm with them if you can get the bigger engine you won't regret it and there is not much difference in gas millage, just TRY to keep your foot out of it. Good luck to you. Rich
