cruise control not working

I Have a 98 f150 6cyl and the cruise control does not work.I have ckecked the fuses and the brake lights.i was advised if a brake light was inoperative it was cause resistance in the circut Any help is appreciated.

Have you checked under the hood to make sure that the CC cable is still attached to the throttle?

Jeremy,Ichecked the throttle cable and it was connected.thought i would try the clock spring connector.

Hey Fireguy, does your horn work, because its the same fuse as the cruise control. Thats how its on my truck, 97 F150

My horn works.I as able to borrow a professional chiltons repair manual. I have checked the circut up to the vss switch. its either going to be the servo or switch.Didnt feel like crawling under the truck last night. I appreciate the input.
