Dealer installed equipment question

I purchased a f350 off the lot, a 2023. It was special ordered and never picked up.
it was ordered with the winch as a dealer install.
so I take the truck back to have it installed as they tell me that have the winch.
was told about a day to install. Now it’s been delay after delay as I am told some of the parts are not for a 2023.
how does a order like this work, does the winch ship with the truck or does the dealer have to order it separately?
and how can it not come with the correct parts?

Dealer installed equipment can be Ford oem parts or aftermarket supplied. That is up to the dealer.

Nothing in today's world surprises me

I'd suggest getting the GSM, Parts & Service Managers together have them order a COMPLETE new Winch Package
then let them figure out the issues with the original one, Bring Doughnuts

Good Luck

I'd seek a full cash refund for the hitch and install, remove the truck from the dealer's lot and find a competent trailer/hitch shop to add what you want.

winch, not hitch.
winch would be an aftermarket item, not a ford factory item.

Did the hidden winch mount on my truck. Rough Country brand and a 12k winch. Bolts right to the frame horns.
