It acts like the wrong t/o bearing but the parts place assures me that all the parts that I installed were correct. I was told to adjust the free play by one mechanic and a Ford dealership told me that a hydraulic clutch has no adjustment. The slave cyl andm/c are working fine. I have checked everything that I can think of short of tearing it all apart again...which I was hoping I would not have to do.Any body have any ideas?????
I am having a similar problem. My new clutch TO bearing is a little off. The inside diameter is correct. After about 5 hundred miles I am having trouble with 1st and reverse when running. There is an occasional chatter when releasing the clutch. I am wondering if it is the slave cylinder . It is acting the way it acted before having the clutch changed. If it is the throw out bearing can I replace [Buy] just that and where can I get the correct one for a 1986 F150 4.9 trans code "C" ??? I would appreciate any help here as I have recentlly resurrected this truck I have owned since brand new and am a little tapped out and will have to do it all my self.

If I need to buy a whole new clutch kit where can I be sure to get one with the gauranteed proper throw out bearing.???.

I am pretty certain now it is not the throw out bearing. Now I have a lot of play in my clutch pedal that got gradually worse till it won't shift at all now while running. I replaced the bushing on the rod going thru the firewall to hydraulics. Now I am stumped on how to tighten up the play in my pedal.??

Is your fluid level good? When you check the level, stick your finger down in the fluid. They have a rubber cap that fits up in the lid of the reservoir, and sometimes that cap sticks to the top of the reservoir, you can't really see it. And the you put fluid in it to top it off, not realizing the real fluid is underneath the rubber cap, and you are running out of fluid underneath. It's happened to me and several other people I know.

The fluid level is fine and the rubber in the cap is fine.

Thanks, I double checked sticking my finger all the way down and hit the bottom of the rubber cup. Reaccordianed it and refilled , pumped the clutch a bunch and problem solved. Thank you very much for that advice. I let it ride while I was waiting for a floor shift kit and after installing went back to the pedal problem focusing on master cylinder.
You saved me a lot of time and money Franklin2.

It's really hard to see, especially when you pour fluid on top of it without realizing what's going on. It really fooled me also.

I didn't see anyone mention the push-rod adjustment. Mine has threads that adjust the length in and out

A lot of them do not have any adjustment. You might have a aftermarket unit, I have heard some of them come with adjustable pushrods.
