79 250 Steering Gear question
For me, too quick for street use. My steering box # is C6AR3580-A2 and RF-D7TC2550-AB. While driving home after purchase, noticed it was too quick but at that time there was none available for the 79 250. At that time (2 years ago) I did google that number and I am pretty ? sure it came up as a Ford van.
Would this possibly be the cause for quick steering? I am not surre of what parts are interchangable from those years.
Is there a possibility that one of you guys know how many turns there are L to L on the 79 250 4x4.
Is it possible to have too much pressure from the Ford replacement pump. ( Which I plan to go Saginaw some day).
The truck has a 4" Rough Country lift installed at a shop for PO.
Thank you, Alex

Thanks for the replys.
My arm is 6 1/2 to 6 3/4 .
This gives me something to check. Length of original P. Arm.
Still not sure about that steering box #..
Appreciate your thoughts..
1st thing the number appears to beC6AR3580-A2 and RF-D7TC2550-AB . Hard to read those cast iron numbers..
Next thing is that number comes up as a 80---96 F Series and E series van steering gear.
Now the question is what is the difference between 1979 and this gear. Mounts up, looks the same but wondering if the ratio is different.
I tried checking but not that good with this interweb stuff.
Thought maybe some of you guys would know how to find out...
Thanks again
