Rear (load)Leaf Spring positions
After 44 years, I never noticed the position of the last lower (extra load ) leaf spring on my 79 F150 Supercab 2wd. The one leaf spring (bottom thicker) leaf spring (guessing it’s there for the F150) has a straight end and a round end on the opposite end. And each spring is reversed on each side of the truck. In other words, the round end is on the front driver side and the straight cut is on the passenger side front. They have never been removed or repaired on this one owner truck. Has anyone ever seen or noticed this setup and is there are reason they are reversed on each side. Odd. Why would they not have the same ends, round or straight cut end caps. They are carrying the same load on each side of the axle. Help me understand this oddity.
