intake 351M

3rd time just puttin on a new aluminum manifold. Should I even put end seals on they always leak. So what the hell should I do?

I used the valley pan, with thin bead of RTV around all ports. Then more RTV on the walls. I never use the end seals.

What I did when installing my new alum intake, because the first time I did it, I had a broken back, L1 & L2 compression fracture from being stupid on my FZ09, I set it on the block and flinched/winced in pain, therefor making the manifold drop before I had it aligned, slid the rtv on the china wall and produced a leak. So to remedy that, I took 4 of the old intake bolts, cut the heads off, ground them smooth with a bit of taper and put them in the holes finger tight. Then, after I had cleaned all the smeared rtv off and was re-installing manifold, I was able to set it straight down on the 4 guide pins and drop it exactly in place. Wish I would've taken a pic, but I think you can get the right idea... the four center of the manifold bolts that stick straight up.

Use TRS for the end seals and be done with it. silicone or TRS around the water ports and Hylomar or Permatex #1 or #2 on the ports. gas eats silicone so it can't be used .
