I’ve decided I’m gonna keep both the aux tank and in cab on Rusty. I’ll probably replace the in-cab tank, along with all the fuel lines. I also want to install a sending unit in the Aux tank. Currently I have the mechanical valve on the floor next to the seat, but want to upgrade to an electrical valve and a switch on the dash that will also switch to the correct sending unit for the gas gauge. I’ve found this: Switchover Valve
but it uses an On-Off-On switch. Will that work with the Main-Aux bezel ring?
You might be able to find that valve a little cheaper on Ebay or Amazon think I got mine a Ebay?
That is the same valve that my 81 F100 with a 300 six uses. Other 80 - 86 motors use different valves and the EFI truck use fuel PSI to change the valve.
As you figured it works with power to it (12v) and 1 port is open.
No power and the other port is open. This is the "default" port and is the rear tank on my truck.
I dont know how your year trucks do the gauge, is that the dash switch you say bezel ring?
I know in the 70's you can add a 2nd tank and wiring / switch as it is a plug in and have it work as I did it on a 76 E350 van.
But if you can find the right switch, should be a easy one to get (ST/DP I think), where 1 side will do the gauge like yours dose now and the other side you run power to it and out to the valve. This should do as you want.
BTW on my truck the axu tank wiring is built into the main harness, not an add on but was lucky my parts truck had all the needed parts for dual tanks.

On the 67 F-100 Camper Special that my Late Dad had. It came with the in cab tank and one inside the left frame rail. The factory switch in the floor when you switched from the cab tank to the extra one the in dash fuel gauge would read how much was in the extra tank. No extra gas gauge needed.
Here is a way to accomplish what I think you are wanting to do. The valve in the link is the one you will need along with the on-off-on switch. I am not good with computers so here is a hand draw diagram. I don't know the color of the wire that goes to the gauge on the dash. This set up will do away with the Manuel switch. Hope this helps. I would want to know the fuel level in both tanks too.

He is trying to get away from needing to do 2 things to feed from the other tank and get the level.
Right now he has to turn the valve next to the seat and flip the switch on the dash for the gauge.

Why not just a on / on switch?
Look at the 80 - 86 trucks with a 300 six for the switch and valve
Kind of what you got where 1 side dose the gauge and the other the valve.
Remember the valve only need power to work 1 tank, no power it defaults to the other tank.

R&S20 , I'm looking at your post from 11/10/2023, you have a hand drawn picture of a D.P.D.T. switch for dual tanks. I have the same switch but am having problems. My gauge will not register unless I take a small screwdriver and connect the top center connector with either the right or left wire, when I connect the either of the wires with the screwdriver it has the gauge work for either tank. My question is what wire did you use for the center connector? What I did was follow the green & red wire from the main tank up to the engine compartment, just before the wires go into the cab there is a plug in connector with multiple wires going into it (this is a 79 F150) Just before this connector I cut the green & red wire. The part of the wire coming from the rear fuel tank I connected to left top connector on the switch, Then just before it went into the plug in connector going into the cab I hooked a wire to that and ran it to the center top connector on the switch thinking that would go to make the gauge register but it's not unless I jump the connectors on the switch. My question is am I using the wrong wire for going to the gauge, is there another wire somewhere that I need to use to make the gauge register? Any help that you can give would be a big help, I've tried a lot but am out of options. I have a tread on the 79 section that list what I've done it's under my name JBK.
